Overview

This 8-storey building comprised 1000 new student beds for the new science campus of Swansea University. The entire building was designed from the foundations up of precast Twin Wall Elements. The building was designed into individual panel elements which were manufactured in Ireland and shipped to Swansea where they were then assembled to form the skeletal structure of the building. We designed the entire structure using the latest Finite Element Analysis software to maximise efficiency which resulted in considerable cost savings and a reduced carbon footprint when compared to a traditional build.
